Golfing Holidays

Golf holidays on Africa's only PGA-branded course

Eighteen holes, par 72, giraffe on the fairways — and a staffed four-bedroom villa for your group of up to eight, minutes from the first tee.

The Baobab Course

A championship layout above the Indian Ocean

Par 72 across eighteen holes, PGA-branded and the only course of its kind in Africa. It follows the ridge rather than flattening it: generous fairways, salt-wind greens, and giant baobabs that make you think twice about the line. Wildlife wanders across it freely — you learn to wait.

November to March is the reason golf groups come here. Europe is grey and wet; the Kenyan coast is hot, dry and bright, and the first tee is a few minutes from the villa gate.

Coral Retreat works well as a base for a group of up to eight: five beds across four bedrooms, breakfast before an early tee time, and a fully equipped bar for the post-round inquest. Rounds, buggies, caddies and club hire are booked directly with the Vipingo Ridge pro shop, and golf is not included in the villa rate — we will give you the contacts and timings so it is arranged before you travel.

Seven Days

A golfing week that leaves room for the coast

A shape that works, rather than a schedule. Move any of it.

  1. Day one

    Arrive and settle

Met at the gate with your names already registered. Unpack, swim, and take the first drink of the week on the terrace while the light goes orange over the reef.

  2. Day two

    First eighteen

Early tee time while the coast is still cool, then a long lunch at the villa. Afternoon in the pool, cards from the morning re-argued at the bar.

  3. Day three

    Range and Academy

A session on the driving range and an hour with the PGA Academy team, then nine relaxed holes to test whatever they told you.

  4. Day four

    Beach and reef

Down to the Beach Club at Kuruwitu: snorkelling over the community-protected coral, seafood on the sand, no clubs at all.

  5. Day five

    Wildlife morning, twilight round

A slow drive through the sanctuary at first light among giraffe, zebra and eland, then a twilight nine as the heat drops.

  6. Day six

    The match

Fourballs, a proper card, and dinner settled at the 19th hole in the clubhouse before the barbecue is lit back at the villa.

  7. Day seven

    One last round

Play early, shower at the house, and take the forty-minute run to Mombasa or step onto a charter from the estate airstrip.

Bring the fourball. We will hold the house.

Eight guests, four bedrooms, and a course you can walk to. Send your dates and we will tell you what the tee sheet looks like.
